The Cultural and Demographic Aspects of the Islamic Financial System and the Potential for Islamic Financial Products in the German Market

Diploma Thesis from the year 2004 in the subject Business economics - Investment and Finance, grade: 1,4, Stralsund University of Applied Sciences, 170 entries in the bibliography, language: English, abstract: The author has divided the thesis in four parts. The first chapter, "Chapter A - Islam - History, Cultural Aspects, and Principles for the Financial System", introduces Islam, its roots and foundation about 1,400 years ago. In that chapter basic Islamic principles are explained and their relevance in all aspects of Muslim life is shown. With those principles underlying, a financial system developed which is different from the Western one. The development of the financial system is described as are various Islamic financial tools explained. In "Chapter B - Muslims in Germany" it is shown how the Muslim community in Germany developed. It is explained when processes of migration started and to what extent they developed. The cultural and educational "Status Quo" of the Muslim community is analysed, and it is looked at their stand concerning school, work, associations, etc. Thereby Islamically cultural distinctions are outlined and resulting obstacles for integration deduced. Following that, the financial "Status Quo" is looked at. Facts about Muslim savings are provided and examples of instruments available at the German market, which are in compliance with Islamic law, are described. Out of the outlined facts in the "Status Quos" a potential analyses is developed. Future scenarios about shifts in the population structure are calculated and thereby resulting changes at the labour market predicted. After the Muslim community and its financial situation is analysed, "Chapter C - Possibilities for Islamic Products in the German Market" describes legal requirements set by German authorities as does it look at Islamic prescriptions for the running of a financial institution. Buku berjudul PEMODELAN STATISTIKA PADA ANALISIS RELIABILITAS DAN SURVIVAL ini ditujukan khususnya untuk membantu para pembaca/peneliti/mahasiswa dalam menyeesalikan permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan statistika, terutama pemodelan statistika. Statistika merupakan sekumpulan konsep dan metode untuk mengumpulkan data, menyajikannya dalam bentuk yang mudah dipahami, menganalisis data, dan mengambil suatu kesimpulan berdasarkan hasil analisis data dalam situasi yang memiliki ketidakastian dan variasi. Penggunaan statistika, atau lebih tepatnya pemodelan statistika hingga kini telah digunakan para peneliti di berbagai bidang ilmu kehidupan. Pada bidang keteknikan, kerap menggunakan alat analisis yang lebih spesifik untuk mengetahui kehandalan dari suatu mesin/sistem. Salah satu penerapannya adalah analisis reliabilitas, yang menggunakan pemodelan statistika. Dengan pemahaman secara komprehensif mengenai analisis reliabilitas, akan memudahkan peneliti di bidang keteknikan untuk mengambil keputusan serta penentu kebijakan berbasis pemodelan statistika yang diperoleh. Di sisi lain, bidang kedokteran atau ilmu kesehatan, kerap pula menggunakan alat anlisis yang lebih spesifik untuk mengetahui ketahanan seorang atau sekumpulan pasien dari suatu penyakit, khususnya penyakit menular yang mengkhawatirkan kesehatan diri sendiri pasien maupn lingkungan sekitar. Penerapan yang digunakan adalah analisis survival, yang juga menggunakan pemodelan statistika. Kedua analisis di atas yaitu reliabilitas dan survival, bersumber dari pemodelan statistika yang berbasis probabilistik. Dengan menggunakan buku ini, proses pemahaman pemodelan statistika dalam analisis reliabilitas dan survival melalui basis probabilitas, lebih dipilih untuk melihat proses ketidapastian dari probabilitas menjadi sebuah keputusan statistika yang kelak merekomendasi peneliti untuk mengambil keputusan dan penentu kebijakan. Kini permasalahan pemodelan statistika bukan suatu masalah rumit karena seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi komputer, pekerjaan statistik sangat terbantu dengan adanya program aplikasi komputer untuk statistik yang kini sudah banyak dipasarkan. Komputer sangat membantu pekerjaan statistik, terutama dalam melakukan perhitungan statistik yang menggunakan rumus-rumus matematika yang rumit dan banyak data. Berbagai perangkat lunak (software) telah berkembang pesat, akan tetapi Software statistik yang komersil mensyaratkan lisensi dengan harga yang relatif sangt mahal untuk ukuran sebagian besar pengguna di Indonesia, atau memaksakan mencuri lisensi dalam bentuk crack yang bersifat ilegal. Dengan demikian, salah satu alternatif penyelesaian mahalnya lisensi, atau agar tidak terjebak pada proses yang ilegal, buku ini menggunakan software yang bersifat freeware statistik, yaitu program R. Artinya, pengguna tidak perlu membayar lisensi, karena perangkat ini adalah bebas dipakai oleh siapapun.
