Buku ini disusun semacam buku kutipan tulisan dari berbagai sumber termasuk hasil penelitian ini dengan harapan mampu melaporkan tentang garam rakyat secara lengkap. Isinya disusun terdiri dari dua bagian bagian pertama membahas tentang pergaraman mulai dari bab satu hingga bab empat, bicara produksi, modal, pasar dan impor garam. Bagian kedua bab lima hingga bab sepuluh membahasa tentang literasi keuangan, perencanaan keuangan keluarga, alokasi penghasilan dan kemandirian keuangan petani garam rakyat.
