Buku ini disusun berdasarkan kurikulum Strata-1 Program Studi Akuntansi dan Manajemen, dengan tujuan membantu mahasiswa memahami materi praktikum mata kuliah Teknologi Informasi untuk Akuntansi dan Bisnis. Tantangan perusahaan saat ini adalah bagaimana menjalankan bisnis dalam perekonomian digital di mana setiap keputusan harus diambil setiap saat dengan dukungan informasi yang cepat dan akurat. Salah satu informasi yang akan dibahas pada buku ini adalah stok barang. Ada 2 perangkat lunak yang digunakan dalam buku ini, yaitu Microsoft Access dan MySQL. Microsoft Access merupakan aplikasi desktop, di mana otomasi informasi dilakukan pada satu lokasi. Otomasi stok barang adalah suatu proses di mana setiap pembelian barang otomatis akan menambah stok barang sedangkan setiap penjualan otomatis akan mengurangi stok barang. Dengan otomasi tersebut maka monitoring stok barang tidak perlu dilakukan dengan perhitungan fisik di gudang. MySQL merupakan aplikasi database yang dapat di-update melalui WEB, materi yang digunakan sama dengan Microsoft Access yaitu stok barang, namun apabila pihak manajemen berada di lokasi yang berbeda dapat memonitor ataupun apabila perlu melakukan perubahan atas database stok barang.
