Sebagai falsafah bangsa, Pancasila menjadi bagian terpenting dari perjalanan panjang sejarah bangsa Indonesia sejak era pra kemerdekaan hingga reformasi ini. Dengan demikian, Pancasila harus dijadikan sebagai cara hidup (way of life) seluruh komponen bangsa dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa, dan bernegara. Kini sudah tidak zamannya, Pancasila hanya diajarkan secara formal dan kaku di bangku pendidikan, namun yang terpenting justeru penghayatan dan pengamalan nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Buku ini mencoba mengungkap seluk beluk Pancasila dalam perspektif seorang santri, mengingat beberapa bagian dari buku ini merupakan hasil dialektika dan diskusi kelas dengan mahasantri Ma’had Aly Al-Iman Purworejo. Titik tekan buku ini adalah untuk menumbuhkan keyakinan ideologis mahasantri terhadap Pancasila sebagai falsafah dan dasar negara Indonesia serta membangkitkan (kembali) semangat hubb al-wathan min al-îmân, sebagai bagian dari komitmen santri terhadap ideologi Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia.

Sebagai falsafah bangsa, Pancasila menjadi bagian terpenting dari perjalanan panjang sejarah bangsa Indonesia sejak era pra kemerdekaan hingga reformasi ini.

He was born in 1213 in Damascus. He attended the Medical College Hospital (Bimaristan Al-Noori) in Damascus. Apart from medicine, Ibn al-Nafis learned jurisprudence, literature and theology. He became an expert on the Shafi'i school of jurisprudence and an expert physician. In 1236, Al-Nafis moved to Egypt. He worked at the Al-Nassri Hospital, and subsequently at the Al-Mansouri Hospital, where he became chief of physicians and the Sultan's personal physician.
