Socialization is a complex process which has a profound effect on how we experience teaching and learning. The study of teachers’ lives and careers through the lens of occupational socialization theory has a rich history in physical education. However, as the social and political climates surrounding education have changed, so have the experiences of teachers. This book pushes beyond traditional perspectives to explore alternative and innovative approaches to socialization. Written by a team of leading international physical education scholars, this is the first edited collection of scholarship on teacher socialization to be published in more than two decades. Divided into five parts, the book provides a review of current knowledge on teacher socialization in school settings, as well as suggestions for different approaches to understanding teacher socialization and recommendations for future directions for studying teachers’ lives and careers. These proceedings present a selection of papers from the ICTTE 2021 conference. While face-to-face classroom instruction is brought back, there are a lot of lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic that schools, teacher training and education institutions, and government have to take into account. There is a need to reconsider what additional knowledge and skills pre-service teachers and in-service teachers need to be prepared for to anticipate such a similar unexpected situation in the future. Additionally, there is also a need to listen to in-service teacher experiences during the emergency remote teaching and integrate the positive lessons that they have gained, such as the use of technology, into the current post pandemic face-to-face classroom instruction. This proceeding is designed for teacher educators, researchers, in-service teachers, and pre-service teachers in the field of language education, math and science education and social science education, who are interested in these topics.

This book examines the art and craft of motion picture photography through a veteran professional cinematographer's personal experiences on five major motion pictures, each selected to illustrate a particular series of challenges for the photographer. "Every Frame a Rembrandt" is an expression heard on sound stages and locations the world over. While in most cases the expression is used lightly and not infrequently with a certain amount of sarcasm, its true meaning speaks highly of most cinematographers' commitment to producing the best, most interesting, unusual and memorable images for the screen. Through the five films he selected for this book Laszlo is able to show the broad range of complexity in motion picture photography, from the relatively simple "point and shoot" in the typcal western to complex in-camera effects. In recounting his "war stories" Laszlo is able to show the day to day activities of a cinematographer before, during and after filming the project, discussing equipment, film stocks, testing, labs, unions, agents, budget requirements, and working with the director and producer. The five films discussed are Southern Comfort, The Warriors, Rambo: First Blood, Streets of Fire, and Innerspace. Development and Public Banks

Development finance institutions (DFIs), also known as public development banks (PDBs) are public financial institutions initiated and steered by governments with explicit official missions to promote public policy objectives, and public development banks (PDBs) are the main category. Legal Ethics for Lawyers

A New Model

This book proposes a new model of professional ethics enabling lawyers to advise clients upon both the law and ethics. This will better protect clients, and society, and enhance lawyers’ professional obligations. The current model of legal ethics, developed in the 19th century, specified that the role of lawyers was only to interpret the law, not also to give ethical advice. This was acceptable to lawyers, clients, and society at that time. However, this is not the case now and legal ethics no longer reflects the needs of modern legal practice. This book draws on moral philosophy to present a new model of legal ethics that explains the analytical process to include ethical advice. It analyses the potential harm of the present model to the legal profession who have duties to the law and justice that may compete with demands by clients to serve them. Further, lawyers’ duty to clients to act in their best interests is sometimes not adequately fulfilled as legal ethics does not permit lawyers to give ethical advice even if it may be in clients’ best interests to do so. The work includes a detailed case study of corporate law practice to show why a new legal ethics is required. Other case examples are provided to demonstrate that lawyers practicing in all areas of law encounter ethical issues and they too will benefit from a new legal ethics. The book will be essential reading for students, academics, lawyers and professional bodies.
