Self-Complementary Antennas

Principle of Self-Complementarity for Constant Impedance

An antenna with a self-complementary structure has a constant input impedance, independent of the source frequency and of the shape of the structure. The principle for this property of constant impedance was discovered by Professor Mushiake himself. This is the first study which comprehensively describes the principles of self-complementarity in antennas. It explains the theory which was the basis of the development of this principle and presents various engineering applications with an emphasis on extremely broadband self-complementary antennas. Self-Complementary Antennas will be of particular interest to antenna engineers working with extremely large bandwidths and more generally to electrical engineers with an interest in the development of the field since 1948.

Metodologi Penelitian Ekonomi Islam

Penelitian ilmiah ialah aplikasi secara formal sistematis dan terorganisir dari metode ilmiah untuk menjawab permasalahan yang memerlukan solusi. Tujuan penelitian hampir sama dengan tujuan ilmu pengetahuan yakni membuat penjelasan, menyusun prediksi, dan mengendalikan fenomena yang terjadi dalam satu batasan yang ditetapkan. Kehadiran buku ini (baca: book chapter) tentu tidak akan membahas penelitian secara teoretis. Banyak karya akademik yang telah membahasnya dengan komprehensif dan sangat mudah ditemukan baik di toko buku maupun di ecommerce. Agar tidak berkutat pada aspek teoretis, Book Chapter ini akan banyak berbicara metodologi penelitian secara praktis dikaitkan dengan Ekonomi Islam. Bidang Ekonomi Islam dipilih karena belum banyak literasi yang secara khusus mengkaji “Metodologi Penelitian Ekonomi Islam” apalagi dilengkapi dengan contoh-contoh proposal dan laporan penelitiannya. Ada yang menarik dalam buku ini. Kerangka epistemologi “Penelitian Ekonomi Islam” tidak hanya disusun oleh seorang akademisi saja, melainkan penerbit mengundang akademisi lintas perguruan tinggi di Indonesia yang memiliki perhatian pada penelitian ekonomi Islam untuk turut berkontribusi. Pengaruhnya, kajian dalam buku ini lebih komprehensif tidak dimonopoli oleh satu mazhab kuantitatif ataupun kualitatif. Walaupun buku ini secara prinsip ditujukan sebagai materi kalangan mahasiswa program sarjana ekonomi Islam dan program sarjana terkait yang ingin mendalami “Metodologi Penelitian Ekonomi Islam”, buku ini juga dapat menjadi rujukan bagi mahasiswa pascasarjana, peneliti, dan pengajar yang membutuhkan pemahaman metodologi penelitian ekonomi Islam. Penting diketahui, buku ini berisi 14 sub pembahasan yang mengkaji Metodologi Penelitian Ekonomi Islam mulai dari aspek konseptualnya, landasan filsafatnya, langkah-langkah praktis prosedur penelitian Ekonomi Islam hingga menghasilkan laporan penelitian. Karya-karya intelektual tersebut sangat patut diapresiasi dan dibumikan agar tidak menjadi literasi yang dipahami penulis, melainkan publik juga ikut tercerahkan, seperti mahasiswa ekonomi Islam baik dari tingkatan sarjana, magister, maupun doktoral.

Positioning Islamic Hotel Tourism

A New Perspective

Several factors contribute to the rapid development of tourism, such as strong economic growth. This result in more disposable income for travel, changing lifestyles and the expansion in transportation industry, which leads to cheaper travel costs and increased demand for tourism products and services is one of the largest and fastest growing economic sectors in the world. The growing demand for products and services comply with Islamic law, or shariah law is obvious and substantial in financial, food and travelling industry. Many scholars have identified religion as a stable factors influencing consumer buying behavior resulting in more demand for religious related product and services. In hospitality industry, scholars have highlighted the growing demand on Islamic Friendly Hotel (IFH) by Muslim tourists causing high commitment in developing such industry. This study found organizational factors including innovation champion, organizational context, and tangible resources and marketing strategy and environmental factors such as demand of Islamic hospitality, government ruling and incentives and competitors strategy were the key drivers to the implementation. These key drivers of implementation provides guidelines for hotels that intend to implement new services, reduced the learning time and promote innovative activities within hotels in Malaysia. Nonetheless, IFH implementation was challenged with high cost to maintain Halal certification, capacity management and international chain hotel status issues. Hotels intend to implement IFH should pay careful attention to the initial consequences such as decreasing non-Muslim customers thus resulting in decrease income at the early stage of introduction. This study has contributed on the development of IFH literature specifically Malaysia by providing popular and unpopular attributes of IFH in Malaysia. Therefore, if Malaysian hotels are to succeed and achieve competitive advantage, being able to address growing Muslim tourists’ needs are essential priorities.
