Lebih jauh lagi, Penulis menyadari bahwa karakter khusus dari hukum hak asasi manusia membuat Hukum HAM baik secara teori, konseptual, maupun praktis memiliki kompleksitas tersendiri. Kompleksitas ini yang membuat Hukum Hak Asasi Manusia sering kali dipahami secara keliru, dirancukan dengan cabang ilmu hukum lainnya. Oleh karena itu, Penulis juga memperkaya pengayakan dalam buku ini dengan memaparkan berbagai studi kasus baik yang berkaitan dengan hak sipil dan politik, hak ekonomi, sosial, dan budaya, serta hak-hak kelompok rentan lainnya.
