Methodological Practices in Social Movement Research

Social movement studies have grown enormously in the last few decades, spreading from sociology and political science to other fields of knowledge, as varied as geography, history, anthropology, psychology, economics, law and others. With the growing interest in the field, there has been also an increasing need for methodological guidance for empirical research. This volume aims at addressing this need by introducing main methods of data collection and dataanalysis as they have been used in past research on social movements. BIJAK MENYIKAPI MEDIA Sisi manfaat media memang tak terhitung. Banyak hal-hal keduniawian bahkan akhirat yang bisa ditunjang dengan media. Usaha, informasi, berita terkini, hingga dakwah, biidznillah, bisa demikian berkembang dengan adanya media. Namun di sisi lain, dampak negatif yang ditimbulkannya juga tak terbendung. MELAWAN KRISTENISASI Kristenisasi seperti teknologi. Selalu ada dengan beragam inovasi. Tujuan utama adalah pemurtadan. Kalau tidak pemurtadan, minimalnya adalah pendangkalan. Sebagai sebuah keniscayaan, Kristenisasi tentu perlu disikapi. Teramat tidak patut bagi seorang muslim untuk menolak sesuatu yang telah dinyatakan secara jelas dalam al-Qur’an. Menolak dengan dalih apa pun, Kristenisasi memang ada dan akan selalu ada dengan segala bentuknya. Miris jika Kristenisasi sekadar dianggap sebagai Kristenfobia. Semakin miris kala pencitraan Nasrani sebagai agama yang penuh damai dan kasih demikian tebal. Padahal, Allah l sendiri yang menyatakan bahwa kaum Yahudi dan Nasrani tidak akan pernah ridha hingga kita mengikuti agama mereka. Artinya, Kristenisasi tidak akan pernah berhenti di setiap tempat dan waktu. Ia akan selalu menyelinap, menyusup di tengah masyarakat muslim di mana pun dan sampai kapan pun.
