Fur die qualitatsbezogene Verbesserung des Niveaus der Lehrerbildung spielen die padagogischen und didaktischen Theorien eine bedeutende Rolle. Ein Weg dahin, besonders in der Praxis, ist auch das Microteaching, ein Verfahren mit langer Tradition im englisch- und deutschsprachigen Raum und mit etwas kurzerer Tradition in anderen Landern, unter anderem auch Griechenland.
