The Challenges and Prospects of Sukuk

A Content Analysis-Based Study

Over recent decades, Sukuk (Islamic bonds) have emerged as one of the most important tools for Islamic investment and financing. They have become the most successful financial product in the Islamic financing industry, which has grown at a phenomenal pace over the past decade. A key driver in this regard has been the development of the Islamic capital markets, which offer tremendous potential for sovereigns, financial institutions, firms, and investors alike. This book comes at a key juncture in the development of the Islamic capital markets, with the global pandemic crisis providing an opportunity for the different players in the Islamic capital markets to re-appraise successes and failures to date. More stringent Shariah oversight has also encouraged a recent critical re-evaluation of the structures used in the Islamic capital markets. This book provides a comprehensive overview of the Sukuk markets, tracking their development from the first Sukuk to the current outlook after the global pandemic crisis and the recent Shariah rulings for Islamic financial institutions in relation to Sukuk. It presents key insights for beginners, as well as more experienced practitioners, and will serve as a practical handbook for postgraduate research students, undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Islamic banking and finance, academics, researchers, and stakeholders in Islamic capital markets, among others.

The role of CRM within corporate strategy

A general analysis

Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: Doing business is easy. Doing business successfully is difficult. Doing business successfully in the long run is a real challenge to management and employees. Companies are driven by the pursuit for growth, and profitability. The increasing globalization process is creating fierce competition. The need for a clear strategy, a guideline is essential to succeed permanently. This means to shift the concentration from short term objectives to long term ones, based on the main determents of success the customer. The purpose is to find out whether companies are putting strategic emphasis on Customer Relationship Management (CRM), that is, if companies perceive CRM as an important part of their strategy in general or if CRM is an unused tool and is given less intention. Two parts a theoretical and an empirical one are the main components of this thesis. The theoretical part covers three important issues strategy, CRM and the combined view on both single parts. The empirical study is based on a quantitative method a questionnaire containing 10 general questions regarding CRM and strategy which includes the response of 106 companies mainly from Sweden and Germany. Stating to be customer oriented is only one thing of the medal. To obtain and to maintain customer focus when doing business is far more difficult. It demands understanding of the complexity, commitment, expertise and time. Obstacles derive from a false interpretation of what customer-led means, from reluctance to change, a lack of communication, and eagerness. Without having a strategy it is nearly impossible to be accomplished. The successful alignment of CRM components and other strategic issues to one viable corporate strategy is essential for future success. This includes constant innovation, foresight, and freedom of mind and thoughts. Introduction to IP and ATM Design and Performance

With Applications Analysis Software

Many engineers and students experience difficulty in making sense of issues associated with IP and ATM teletraffic techniques. This is partly because of the subject itself: networks are flexible, complicated, and still evolving. However, some of the difficulties arise because of the advanced mathematical methods that have been applied to provide analytic tools. The research literature abounds with many and varied analytical approaches applied to a bewildering array of traffic mixes, switch designs and traffic control mechanisms. Introduction to IP and ATM Design and Performance provides: an introduction to IP and ATM traffic issues; performance evaluation using analysis and simulation; presentation of key formulas describing traffic and queueing behaviour and practical examples, graphs and tables for the design of wide area networks. Particular areas addressed include the fundamental traffic control functions: connection admission control; usage parameter control; priority control; queue scheduling and buffer management. Features include: · Clear Expansion of typical traffic and queueing behaviour · Simple exposition of fundamental performance evaluation methods and techniques for ATM and IP · All formulas are available in MathCAD files on the related web-site · Avoids the use of advanced mathematical methods This simple intuitive approach is easy to follow and will benefit both engineers in the telecommunications industry and undergraduate and postgraduate students in telecommunications, communications engineering, computer engineering courses.

Risk Management in Islamic Finance

An Analysis of Derivatives Instruments in Commodity Markets

This study addresses derivatives instruments in Islamic finance. It highlights the benefits of these instruments, their legal aspects and the appropriate alternatives. The forward, futures and options contracts in commodity markets are discussed and the arguments in favour of and against these instruments examined. The forward contracts issue includes the possibility of trading gold in forward basis, the forward market for currencies and the possible alternative to manage related risks. With the examination of futures contracts, the main arguments against such a contract are addressed, for example the sale prior to taking possession and the sale of debt hedging and speculation. The study proposes "khiyar al-shart" and "bay al-arbun" as tools of risk management and alternatives to options. The sale of pure rights is at the center of the admissibility of options in Islamic law and is investigated comprehensively.
