Pentingnya dalam menjaga imunitas tubuh, terutama pada ibu nifas. Ibu nifas secara fisiologis mengalami inflamasi, inflamasi yang terjadi pada ibu berdampak secara langsung pada kehidupan bayinya. Antibodi ibu juga dapat memengaruhi kemampuan neonatus untuk meningkatkan respons imun yang disebut sebagai interferensi antibodi ibu. Imunitas pada ibu nifas dinilai penting karena berhubungan dengan kualitas hidup sang ibu. Komponen utama pertahanan pertama bayi terhadap berbagai patogen yang dapat mereka temui adalah antibodi ibu yang ditransfer secara pasif melalui ASI. ASI memperluas pengaruh kekebalan ibu ke periode pascanatal. Imunologi yang paling banyak di dalam komponen dalam ASI adalah antibodi. Sehingga penting dalam meningkatkan imunitas ibu nifas demi kesejahteraan ibu dan bayi pada periode menyusui. Flavonoid diketahui dapat meningkatkan aktivitas proliferasi limfosit secara in vitro, sehingga berpotensi sebagai agen imunomodulator. Buah lemon diketahui memiliki kandungan flavonoid yang dapat menghasilkan anti-virus, imunomodulator, dan antioksidan. Konsumsi air lemon yang memiliki efek meningkatkan sistem imun tubuh dalam melawan virus dan bakteri. Flavonoid juga diketahui memiliki antioksidan karena kemampuan senyawa fenolik untuk membentuk ion fenoksida dengan mendonorkan H+ion dan kemudian mengikat radikal bebas. Teknik ekstraksi kandungan lemon yang ada masih bersifat tradisional, sehingga dapat menghilangkan beberapa zat penting dalam tanaman. Untuk itu, perlu sebuah metode optimasi ekstraksi lemon yang komprehensif agar kandungan nutrisi tidak banyak hilang. Teknologi machine learning terbukti telah banyak digunakan untuk proses optimasi salah satunya Ultrasound Assisted Extraction (UAE). Pemanfaatan Ultrasound Assisted Extraction (UAE) sebagai teknologi ekstraksi memiliki kelebihan dalam mempercepat waktu produksi, menghemat energi, meningkatkan kualitas bahan, dan mempercepat proses kimia. Penerapan KBK menggunakan metode PBL untuk pendidikan kedokteran dasar di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Syiah Kuala telah dilaksanakan sejak tahun akademik 2006/2007.
