Buku ini merupakan pengantar usul fikih. Sebagai pengantar, pada umumnya ia memuat defenisi-definisi terkait dengan kajian usul fikih, seperti hukum syarak, hakim, hukum, maqasid syariah, dalil hukum, sumber hukum dan istilah lainnya. Meski ia merupakan pengantar, ada hal hal-hal baru yang akan anda temukan dalam buku ini, yakni terkait pembagian hukum syarak dan jumlahnya. Buku usul fikih ini cukup ringan, ditulis berbahasa Arab dengan sistimatika yang sederhana. Buku ini cocok untuk diajarkan di pesantren, karena selain berbahasa Arab yang sederhana, pembahasannya juga cukup ringan. Buku ini juga cocok utuk mata kuliah qira'atul kutub.
