Ruang lingkup mata kuliah ini difokuskan untuk mempelajari cara mengelola sekelompok perawat yang menjadi stafnya dengan menggunakan peran dan fungsi manajemen, agar pelaksanaan pemberian asuhan keperawatan kepada klien pada tatanan pelayanan keperawatan baik di rumah sakit maupun di Puskesmas dan di tingkat komunitas keluarga dan masyarakat sesuai dengan standar nasional maupun internasional.Pembahasan ditekankan pada implementasi peran dan fungsi manajer di unit perawatan. Proses pembelajaran dilakukan dengan metode pembelajaran aktif berupa diskusi (berbasis pertanyaan dan masalah), presentasi, role play, dan belajar berdasarkan hasil studi lapangan dilaksanakan selama satu semester agar mencapai kemampuan kognitif dan afektif.
