This book is the product of a team-teaching course entitled, “Issues in Economic Development” offered to the final-year students of Department of Economics and Finance at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. IMPLEMENTASI PERAN SUPAK GORONG DALAM MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS SUMBER DAYA MANUSIA

Kinerja guru sebagai sumber daya manusia utama dalam pendidikan SMP Negeri 2 Wagir dan SMPN 2 Gondanglegi Kabupaten Malang sebagian masih tergolong rendah. Padahal tuntutan yang ada guru adalah agent of change, dan menjadi seorang yang benar-benar profesional dalam bidangnya demi terwujudnya pendidikan yang bermutu. Kondisi pola kepemimpinan yang dimana aktivitas Kepala Sekolah yang sangat padat di luar sekolah sehingga kontrol sekolah lebih longgar. Dari faktor guru terlihat adanya kelompok-kelompok yang menyebabkan sulitnya untuk menanamkan penyatuan visi dan misi dalam meraih peningkatan kualitas pendidikan. Sebagai upaya untuk memperbaiki kondisi tersebut di atas, kepala sekolah selaku manajer SDM telah melakukan kegiatan yang mampu mewujudkan tercapainya sumber daya manusia yang bermutu melalui kegiatan supervisi. Keberhasilan kepala sekolah dalam hal kegiatan supervisi ini, merupakan suatu prestasi kerja yang dapat disebut sebagai best practice, oleh sebab itu penulis akan mendokumenasikan keberhasilan kepala sekolah ini dengan laporan yang berjudul Implementasi Peran Supak Gorong Dalam Meningkatkan Kualitas Sumber Daya Manusia di SMP Negeri 2 Wagir dan SMPN 2 Gondanglegi Kabupaten Malang”. Hasil kegiatan supervisi yang telah dilaksanakan oleh kepala sekolah, disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan supervisi akademik mampu meningkatkan keseluruhan aspek yang menjadi titik kelemahan guru yang menjadi permasalahan di SMP Negeri 2 Wagir dan SMPN 2 Gondanglegi Kabupaten Malang. Aspek-aspek kelemahan guru telah mengalami penurunan dan menunjukkan hasil ke arah yang positif atau sudah dapat teratasi. Mulai dari kedisiplinan masuk jam mengajar, ketertiban dokumen akademik, kesadaran terhadap inovasi pendidikan, penerapan CTL, pemanfaatan media dan internet dalam pembelajaran, serta penggunaan IT dalam aktifitas akademik sudah mengalami perubahan ke arah positif (meningkat), meskipun belum mencapai kesempurnaan. Semoga tulisan ini dapat membantu guru dalam meningkatkan kualitas SDM dan kualitas keluaran SMP Negeri 2 Wagir dan SMPN 2 Gondanglegi.
