Buku ini berisi hasil kajian yang dilakukan oleh Program Studi Gizi Kesehatan, Fakultas Kedokteran UGM mengenai berbagai macam makanan khas Yogyakarta dan kandungan zat gizinya. Buku ini dapat dibaca oleh berbagai kalangan baik mahasiswa, dosen, peneliti, maupun masyarakat umum. Pembaca akan mendapatkan informasi mengenai kandungan zat gizi makanan per takaran saji maupun per 100 gram dari tiap-tiap jenis makanan khas Yogyakarta. Selain itu, buku ini juga memaparkan mengenai teknik yang tepat dalam mengukur kandungan zat gizi pada makanan. Pengukuran kandungan zat gizi pada sampel makanan dilakukan di laboratorium di lingkungan Universitas Gadjah Mada yaitu Laboratorium Penelitian dan Pengujian Terpadu (LPPT), Laboratorium Pangan dan Gizi Fakultas Teknologi Pertanian, dan Laboratorium Gizi Kuliner, Fakultas Kedokteran. Pembahasan juga dilengkapi dengan kajian mengenai keamanan makanan, ukuran Rumah Tangga (URT) untuk makanan, serta Angka Kecukupan Gizi (AKG) yang berlaku di Indonesia. Dengan adanya buku ini diharapkan dapat menambah wawasan kepada masyarakat luas mengenai makanan tradisional yang ada di Kota Yogyakarta sehingga mereka dapat memilih makanan mana yang cocok untuk dikonsumsi berdasarkan kondisi tubuh masing-masing orang. Sebagai contoh, seorang penderita Diabetes Mellitus sebaiknya menghindari makanan yang tinggi gula sederhana seperti geplak dan lebih memilih konsumsi makanan yang tinggi karbohidrat kompleks seperti growol dan garut.

Gizi Kerja

Dalam usaha untuk meningkatkan derajat kesehatan pekerja, diperlukan manajemen yang baik untuk mengelola kesehatan pekerja. Salah satunya ditinjau dari sisi gizi dan kesehatan. Gizi berperan penting dalam memenuhi kebutuhan fisiologis sehingga dengan terpenuhinya kebutuhan tersebut, harapannya pekerja dapat menjalankan aktivitasnya sehari-hari tanpa ada gangguan kesehatan yang berarti. Tempat kerja merupakan tempat yang paling optimal untuk dilakukannya intervensi gizi. Alasannya ialah karena sebagian besar orang menghabiskan sebagian besar waktunya di tempat kerja. Intervensi bisa dilakukan mulai dari memberikan asupan gizi yang sesuai kebutuhan pekerja. Selain itu, perlu dilakukan pemantauan terhadap status gizi dan dampaknya terhadap kesehatan pekerja. Pengetahuan mengenai ilmu gizi sangat penting bagi mahasiswa dan praktisi gizi dan kesehatan, khususnya pemerhati di bidang gizi di tempat kerja. Selain itu, para pemegang kebijakan di perusahaan juga dapat menggunakannya sebagai pedoman bagaimana menyusun sistem pemenuhan gizi di tempat kerja sesuai sumber daya yang dimiliki perusahaan.

Tropical Anemia

Anaemia is the common health problem all over the world. The term "tropical anaemia" means the anaemic disorders, which are predominant in the tropical region of the world. The purpose of this book is to summarise and present the topics specifically relating to the anaemia in the forms that is unique in the tropical countries. Due to the globalisation in the present day, the change in the epidemiology of diseases from one site to the others all around the world can be expected. The summative on the common anaemic problems in the tropical countries can be and should be performed. This book can make them at least realise the problems. The details of this book focus on the anaemia in the aspects relating to the tropical medicine.
